Dalton Baptist Church is affiliated with the Michigan Conference of the Baptist General Conference, now known as Converge.  The year 1883 marks the beginning of the work we now call Dalton Baptist Church.  The beginning was the organizing of a Sunday School in the area called Bear Swamp.  Those who helped in the Sunday School organization were members of the Swedish Baptist Church of Muskegon, Michigan, presently known as Lakeside Baptist Church.  On March 5, 1891 the church was organized with 22 members and given the name “The Swedish Baptist Church of Dalton.  In July, 1892, the church joined the Swedish Baptist Conference of America, presently known as the Baptist General Conference and was incorporated into the State of Michigan on December 21, 1892. In the early 1900’s the congregation was small.  Many times their was talk of closing, but then God would bring in a few more families.  In the 1950’s and 160’s Dalton Baptist Church experienced much growth!  So much growth, that the older buildings could not contain the growing congregation any longer.  Early in 1965 construction began on the buildings and on December 19,1965, the existing sanctuary was dedicated.  Over the years Dalton Baptist Church has been a home for many believers. We are a passionate, diverse group who love the Lord and desire to see others come to know Him as well. We firmly believe in the Bible as God’s inspired Word to mankind and our guide for faith, conduct, and truth.  Whether you have been a Christian for many years or are just investigating who Jesus is, you are welcome to join us and “Give Life A New Beginning.”  Our worship style is blended.  Blended worship has as its goal the joining together of the people of God in all their diversity, under one roof and in one service, to glorify God through the offering up of corporate praise. The term “blended” speaks of the artful weaving together of varying musical styles and other elements into a seamless tapestry which honors the Lord without alienating any particular group.
